We recommend routine cleanings every six months in order to maintain your oral health. During a routine check-up, we will assess the overall health of the mouth, polish the teeth, remove any built up tartar, plaque, and stains. We will also take x-rays as needed to identify potential problems early.
Sealants are a preventative application applied to the chewing surfaces of the teeth, and are designed to prevent the intrusion of bacteria and other debris into the deep crevices or grooves found in most teeth.
If a tooth has been damaged by decay or a fracture, we will try to repair it and restore it with a filling, crown or other treatment. Sometimes, though, the damage is too extensive for the tooth to be repaired and the tooth may need to be removed/extracted.
Dentures are generally classified as partial or full. Partial dentures are designed to replace a small section of teeth, and help prevent existing healthy natural teeth from shifting position; full dentures generally replace an entire set of teeth such as upper and lower dentures.
Fillings are used to replace portions of your tooth after decay has been removed. Composite tooth colored fillings are bonded to your tooth structure restoring strength to the tooth and leaving a natural appearance.
When the nerve in a tooth suffers trauma from impact or decay causes the nerve to become infected, the infected tissue must be removed by either extracting the tooth, or performing a root canal. Removing the infection from the tooth and replacing the missing nerve with a restorative material is called root canal therapy (also known as endodontic treatment).
Crowns are a custom restorative dental treatment that involves covering the entire tooth and restoring it to its original shape. Crowns can be used to restore your tooth if you have had a root canal, the tooth has fractured above the gum-line, or there is a large amount of decay. Bridges are non-removable replacements for missing teeth. They typically involve crowning two teeth adjacent to an extraction site with a replacement tooth attached between.
Teeth whitening is certainly one of the most popular cosmetic processes. We offer several different options when it comes to teeth whitening, and can help you find the one to most effectively achieve the bright smile you desire.
An implant is an artificial device implanted into the bone in the space of a missing tooth. It is usually hidden below the gum-line and supports a crown, bridge, partial, or denture. We will be happy to discuss all implant options with you and coordinate with a specialist for your dental implant placement.
